Which Body part of Sati fell in Chintpurni?

Mata Chintpurni Temple is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths in India, which makes it a deeply sacred place in Hindu mythology. When Goddess Sati sacrificed herself during the yagna of her father Daksha, Lord Shiva carried her burnt body in grief. After this, Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshan Chakra to cut her body into pieces that fell in different places, each becoming a Shaktipeeth. It is believed that the forehead of Mata Sati fell at Chintpurni, after which it became this prestigious temple.

According to temple tradition, the temple was established by Pandit Mai Das, a devout Brahmin, in the 16th century. The Goddess came in his dream and asked him to build a temple at this very place. It is believed that he built the temple of Devi Chintpurni at Chhaproh village twelve generations ago. And his descendants still live in Chintpurni and perform prayers and Pooja at this temple.

The word Chintpurni comes from "Chinta" (worry) and "Purni" (fulfiller). Devotees believe that Maa Chintpurni listens to their prayers and fulfils their heartfelt wishes, relieving them of all worries.
